Make Your Own Easy Lemon Muddy Buddies

Lemon muddy buddies are the easy party snack you need, whether it’s planned or not. These are so simple to make that you can even have the kids help you out. They’re a great treat for spring and summer gatherings, or whenever you feel like having a little lemon lighten up the flavors wherever you go.

To make these easy lemon muddy buddies, you’ll need to put the powdered icing sugar into a gallon-sized bag. Meanwhile, you’ll pour the proper amount of Chex cereal into a large mixing bowl.

As those things sit on the sidelines, you’ll want to put your yellow candy melts (or white chocolate chips) into a small bowl that’s microwave-safe and then melt them for a few seconds. Stir, and then reheat this if you need to until it’s properly melted.

After that, you’ll add the lemon zest and our it over the Chex, stirring to coat every last piece. Stir gently so you don’t bust them up!

You’ll then sprinkle the lemon juice on the candy-coated Chex. It’s a good idea to squeeze the lemon into a measuring cup and then pour so you can be sure you’re not adding any seeds to the mix.

Finally, you’ll put the Chex into the bag with that powdered icing sugar, seal, and shake. Pour this out onto a cookie sheet and let the candy melts set. This should take about 30 minutes, so you’ve got plenty of time before everyone shows up. The full recipe will walk you through it all below!
