Make Your Own Donut Cookie
To make a donut cookie, it’s only about an hour and 22 minutes until they’re ready. Make sure you allow time for the dough to chill and it will all go quickly.
It starts with your stand mixer by adding the butter and sugar. Then you’ll beat each egg in on low, one at a time. The vanilla goes in next and then you’ll mix the dry ingredients together, followed by putting it together with the milk in three stages.
Mix this all together and you’ll have a dough that needs to chill in the fridge for an hour. Set a timer, take a nap, and live your best life. You could also watch an episode of The Simpsons while you wait.
Once the wait is over, you’ll roll out the dough and use a small circular cookie cutter to make your donuts. Bake them and then let them cool. Then you can dip them into the icing and add the sprinkles.
Tempting as it is, let them sit for 30 minutes first so the icing sets. Speaking of the icing, you’ll make that with sugar, cocoa powder, salt, milk, vanilla, and corn syrup. These ingredients make the perfect glaze, just like at the donut shop.
So this treat is like combining donuts with cookies for the ultimate win, the donut cookie! You can see the full steps below to make your own!
