Make Your Own Twix Layered Cake

Follow these simple steps to bake up cake perfection with the Twix layered cake! You’ll begin by getting the oven heated and prepping your cake pans. The batter is a snap – just beat the cake mix and ingredients together with your hand mixer and then split it up into the 3 cake pans.

You’ll pop the cake pans into the oven and let them do their thing. Meanwhile, you’ll use your stand mixer to make your frosting. It starts with butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, heavy whipping cream, and just a little bit of the caramel sauce. Once it is smooth with stiff peaks, you’re done.

When the cake layers are cool, you can then cut the domes off each to make the layers even.

Set one cake layer on your cake board and add some frosting, smoothing to make it even. Keep repeating for all the layers, and once you get to the last one, frost the entire cake using a frosting scraper to make it smooth and even.

You’ll drip caramel sauce on the top edge to make it drip down the side. Do that with the chocolate sauce too. Take your star tipped piping bag and put little dollops of frosting all around the top of the cake and then finish it all off with pieces of Twix set into the frosting.

Any Twix pieces you don’t use on the cake are fair game for snacking. Scroll down and you’ll see the whole process come together in a flash!

Take this chocolate cake and elevate it to a Twix Cake!
