I’ve always been scared about trying to make fudge at home. I thought it was super complicated and the only images that came to my mind were of those huge copper pots, thermometers and candy machines you usually see at fudge factories.
However making fudge at home can be incredibly easy! Like so easy it only takes a couple of minutes and you only need to have on hand someantry staple ingredients. Honestly? After making these I can only kick myself for not trying to make it any sooner!

How to store cookie dough fudge?
The best way to store this type of fudge is refrigerated. Since we are not fully caramelizing the sugars (or adding a lot of it) you’ll need to keep it in a cool place so it will hold up its shape.
You can also cut it up and wrap each piece in parchment paper, like you would do with candy! It’s a beautiful and simple gift idea for friends, family and neighbors.
Oh and you can double, triple and half the recipe! So you can make the exact amount of fudge you are craving at the moment. I love when you can do that with recipes!
Cookie Dough Fudge
Ingredients:
- 5 Tbsp brown sugar, packed
- 6 Tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
- ⅓ Cup half-and-half
- 4 Cups powdered sugar
- 1 Tsp vanilla extract
- ½ Cup mini chocolate chips
Directions:
1. Line a square baking pan with aluminium foil or baking paper. Set aside.
2. In a medium saucepan combine brown sugar, unsalted butter and half-and-half. Stir over medium-low heat until combined.
3. Remove from heat and add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract. Then, fold in the chocolate chips.
4. Spread the fudge into the prepared baking pan and refrigerate for 2 hours before slicing it and serving.
