Air Fryer Pop-Tarts : Homemade Breakfast Pastry

Sharing is caring!

Yes, I know this is a dessert site, but sometimes my breakfast and desserts cross their own lines. I love sugar breakfasts…pancakes with Nutella, fruity French toast, and these delicious air fryer pop tarts!

That’s right! You can make your own homemade pop-tarts in your air fryer. And of course, you get to choose your filling! These toaster strudels, pop tarts, or breakfast pastry (whatever you want to call them) are so versatile, you get to make one everyone will love.

Of course I’m a huge sugar nut, so I go with jelly or Nutella, and you HAVE TO HAVE frosting of course!

If you love sweet breakfasts, you’ll love our Colorful Donuts and Cinnamon Sugar Donuts too! And if you want to go more classic, try a delicious belgian waffle.

What are the best fillings for Pop-Tarts?

The best filling inside a breakfast pastry like this, is whatever you want! If you want more of a breakfast taste, I’d stick to the jellies and jams like apple, strawberry or cherry to make it like a breakfast cherry pie ;). If you want more of a dessert, try Nutella, nut butters, chocolate, etc.

Dare to try a savory version? I’m sure that would turn out quite nice as well!

Try it with this huckleberry jam for an extra special treat!

Can I make these without an air fryer?

That’s the exact question I had while we’re living without one right now. Air fryers make it easy to fry up foods and not make them as greasy. BUT, yes, you could always fry these up in some oil on the stove too. You’d have to make sure they are closed well, and don’t fry for too long. Of course the oil seeps in much more doing it this way, so just be sure to dab them with napkins to let it soak up some of the oil.

If you love pop tarts, try this cherry danish tonight for a delicious dessert.
