The 4 layers in these Twix Brownie Bars:

  • First we start with a super fudgy bakery style brownie that’s honestly to die for. I mean even if you don’t feel like doing any of the other layers and want to stick with only the brownie you can. It’s one of those recipes that produces a crackly top, a super moist fudge-like interior and the crunchiest and chewiest corners. This brownie, is the single best brownie in the whole planet Earth.
  • Then the shortbread creamy layer that’s like a frosting but better. It’s also super easy to do. Basically mix crushed shortbread cookies with cream cheese.

  • We also have a thick layer of caramel because everything tastes better with caramel.

  • And we finish it off with a good layer of melted chocolate. Then it’s just a matter of letting everything set in the refrigerator so it’s easy to slice and bam! Best dessert on the planet? Check!

How to make the best fudge brownie?

The true star of this recipe is that fudge brownie layer. There are a couple of secrets if you want to achieve the perfect brownie at home.

  1. Melt together butter and chocolate using a double boiler.
(Don’t worry if you don’t have one…we fake it like this!)

  2. Then while the mixture is still hot incorporate the sugar and stir until combined. This is what helps in creating that super shiny top every brownie should have. It also makes it chewier.

  3. Add an extra egg yolk. More fats mean fudgier texture and shinier crust.

  4. Mix in the flour until just incorporated. You don’t want to overmix your brownie because you don’t want to activate the gluten too much. Mix until you have no lumps left and stop.

That makes this twix brownie bars recipe the perfect one to have on hand for parties and get togethers!
