When it comes to winning it as a mom, we all need our little hacks to make those fun desserts and treats. This one will go over big with the Peppa crowd and the little ones in general. Plus, these pig cupcakes look adorable on any dessert table!

What You Will Need for Pig Cupcakes

  • Chocolate cake box mix – Grab your favorite box and prepare it according to the instructions listed for the cupcakes on the back. You can also make your own favorite chocolate cupcake recipe if you have one.
  • Marshmallows – Cut these in half horizontally. One-half will be used for each cupcake.
  • Pink M&M’s – You’ll need enough so there are 2 per cupcake.
  • Decorator eyes – That pig cupcake has to see, after all! You’ll also need 2 of these per cupcake.
  • Pink buttercream frosting – If you can’t find it, use pink food coloring on white frosting, and voila! You’ll have it!
  • Piping bag – Make sure you have this for your frosting and that it has a large-cut tip.
  • Cupcake liners – We’ve used 2 per cupcake for a cool presentation but even if you just use one per cupcake, that will work!

Make Your Own Pig Cupcakes

Once you have everything assembled, the fun begins! You’ll bake up the cupcakes just as the box tells you and then let them completely cool. Don’t ever try to frost cupcakes that are even slightly warm or your frosting will slide off into a pool of messiness.

When they are cool, you’ll pipe on a smooth and flat swirl of the frosting to each cupcake. Then you’ll take that marshmallow half and put it in the lower center portion of each cupcake. Be sure to put that cut side down so it looks its best!

Next, you’ll add the pig ears, which are the pink M&M’s and the eyes. Now you can arrange these on a plate or in a rustic-looking box for a farm theme. Either way, be prepared to hear the happy cheers of little ones who can’t wait to make pigs of themselves eating these pig cupcakes!
